It was 11:00 pm at night . I was already in bed feeling sleepy while drinking a cup of tea. Suddenly I had an overwhelming feeling that something was wrong outside. I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what it was. It was late. I tried to ignore that feeling , but it kept coming. “I’m already in my PJ’s, so I’ll just check tomorrow morning “ I thought. The prompting continued to nag at me. I knew I had to go check. I put down my tea, pulled my hair up in a clip, and put on my rubber boots. I headed out the back door not knowing where I was going or what I was looking for. It was so dark . I couldn’t even see the moon. Being out in the country , we have no street lights . It is pure darkness without the moonlight. I was so tired that I had forgotten my big flashlight so I had to use my cell phone. I headed for the barn, but as I was walking I felt a strong “ pull” to go to my aquaponics in my greenhouse. So that’s what I did. Everything was running well with no problems that I could find. I started to question myself. “ Did I really feel a “prompting” to come outside or was I overreacting? I wondered. As I started to leave the greenhouse, I was “prompted” to walk a different path to get back to my house. As I looked down at the grass trying to find my way in the dark, I saw something. This “ something “ was black and shiny in the grass! I knew there were no snakes in Hawaii so what in the world could it be? As I squatted down to get a better look I couldn’t believe what I saw! It was a fish! How in the world? As I tried to grab it I could see that it was a very wriggly baby catfish! After a lot of effort I was able to catch him and get him back into the tank of my aquaponics.
What a tiny little fish he was ! It really was a miracle that I had been “ prompted “ and “ guided” to go outside and actually find him! It was a reminder to me that no matter how small or lost any of us may feel , we are not forgotten. God knows where we are and He will find us somehow. He may even send someone out to find us, and heIp us to get back to where we belong. I was so humbled by this lesson that I received while I sat outside in the dark watching my catfish swim in their pond.

“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”
You perseverance has built endurance, character from your head to toe, HEART TO SOUL!!!! SHALOM!
Amazing how God reaches out to you to find such beautiful creatures for you to rescue no matter what time of the day or lead in you darkness for you to find. Once again, simply AMAZING!

Hey my sweetheart Kim just finished reading your little fish in the dark story and as I got to the end I realized you had written my thoughts, that no matter how small and insignificant GOD hears and sees our struggles, that little fish send out an SOS which you heard, and what’s amazing is that it was 11PM and you already in bed, And in the Dark, only you my dear, you clearly are on Our Heavenly Father’s heart trusting you knowing you are going to answer his call no matter where, who or what, I love you my Sister, continue to do GOD’S work as your testimony will and is an inspiration to others, to other souls who Needed to hear this, continue to share you beautiful soul warming stories, God continue to Bless you my sister, Love you
How coincidental, I just watched a documentary, I forgot the subject, however, there was a scene where the camera crew focused in on a wiggles thing in the grass , it was baby Cat Fish!
Aloha,
I can remember when we had the catfish hatchery watching the eggs develop – – so very tiny but you could see their whiskers! If someone ever doubted there is a GOD, just look at those tiny miracles of life.
One fish two fish…you are awesome.
Period. ♥️
A reminder we all need ❤️
We are learning to fall in love with the ‘leadings’. God bless you, Precious!
The thing that also stands out to me, my dear niece, is that before going out into the night and into the dark, to act on a compulsion to check on your farm and animals, is that you put your hair in a clip! This was serious business! Something tells me when you are serious about checking on your babies, that putting your hair in a clip is the equivalent of rolling up your sleeves!
